GOOD NEWS
The River Murray is not dry and is open for business.
Minister for the River Murray Karlene Maywald said, "While
there has been record low inflows to the River Murray because
of widespread drought, there is still plenty of water to cruise
the river in South Australia".
South Australia's Tourism Minister, Dr. Jane Lomax Smith said
"the river is an absolute picture and it's a great time for a
houseboat holiday.

Houseboating is one of the most cost effective and relaxing
types of holiday on offer, and because of the range of
activities available - water sports, bushwalks and visits to
heritage towns - it's ideal for all ages, budgets and tastes.

Houseboat Hirers Association CEO Peter Tucker says that
despite reports of low water flows in the Murray,
the houseboat industry is in full swing and with river
conditions in South Australia ideal for all leisure activities, our
message to Australians is to grab your family or friends and
book your dream houseboat holiday - all you need is a driver's
licence and a few days to unwind."
